Bulk purchasing and traceability are not opposites. A commercial lot may combine coffee from several farms, while its records can still identify a country, region, cooperative or individual lot. A single-origin label alone does not establish farm-level traceability. Ask what level of origin detail is documented and whether the lot code connects the sample, offer and shipment; compare any additional cost against your actual requirements.
Atlas asks buyers early whether their own customers or product story require single-origin traceability, since that decision shapes which suppliers and lots are even available to quote. Requesting the required traceability level in writing before the sample stage — rather than assuming it can be added later — keeps the later order aligned with what the buyer can actually document to their own market.
